IntraSpectrum Counseling is Accepting Applications for a Senior Staff Supervisor/Full Time Staff Therapist with BIPOC Competence and Experience Working with Members of the LGBTQ+ Community. Candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply.

IntraSpectrum Counseling is accepting applications for a full-time licensed clinician with experience and passion about supporting the needs of Black, Indigenous and People of Color, including supervisees and clients. As ISC is focused on working with the LGBTQIA population, this is an essential level of expected competency as well. Strong candidates for the position would be able to cite experience supervising other clinical staff, be well versed in navigating the roles of clinical colleague and administrative supervisor, while also possessing ability to discuss race, white fragility, and systemic racism within various aspects of a supervisee’s or client’s life. Applicants should be able to demonstrate multicultural competence in working with all facets of the LGBTQIA community, especially QPOC (queer people of color), first-generation/international clients, folks who identify as gender nonconforming or genderqueer, and various intersections of religious/spiritual identity and queer identity. Competence in working with individuals with significant trauma histories, racialized trauma in and out of the workplace, various disordered eating patterns, and those who participate in non-traditional, non-monogamous, and/or kink relationships is sought.

Requirements and Expectations

  • Candidates must be licensed in the state of Illinois for at least 2 years (Clinical Psychologist, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW license) and must have weekend and evening availability to be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to offer clinical supervision regarding individual therapy and if possible, couples and group therapy as well
  • Demonstrated commitment, passion, and experience in working with the LGBTQIA population and intersectional identities
  • Ability and willingness to explore and process various aspects of intersectionality with clients, supervisees and colleagues
  • Experience in working with clients impacted by trauma
  • Experience is treating eating disorders is preferred
  • Openness to feedback
  • Passion and investment in fostering the development of ISC staff including seasoned and newer clinicians
  • Demonstrated commitment to furthering your professional skills and knowledge
