Good therapy is when you get to a place where you are able to allow yourself to just be. There is space for you to be open and connect with yourself in a way you may never have before. Being able to collaborate with your therapist and establish what you want to achieve during your time together is so beneficial.
I work primarily from a combination of cognitive/dialectical behavioral techniques and a client-centered approach. I believe it is helpful to focus on thoughts and behaviors you find positive and beneficial in your life, and challenge and reframe the ones that aren’t serving you. I see you as the expert on you, and my role in your therapeutic journey is to provide you the space to explore yourself and build upon your strengths. I encourage my clients to explore their emotions and how they are connected to their body and how all of this contributes to how they respond to life.

During Black History Month, we honor the contributions, triumphs, struggles and experiences of African Americans throughout U.S. history. The theme for 2023 is “Black Resistance”, spotlighting that Black resistance strategies have served as a model for every other social movement in the U.S., thus, their legacy and importance cannot be understated. IntraSpectrum Counseling is proud to commemorate Black History Month and to celebrate and honor all Black Americans, including QTBIPOC individuals across our country.
