Dr. Gayle founded IntraSpectrum Counseling in 2009, in support of her vision of offering integrative, strength-based approaches to help clients develop their own authentic voices and pursue their unique paths to individual fulfillment. She is deeply devoted, professionally and personally, to the empowerment of disenfranchised groups. IntraSpectrum’s inception was also strongly motivated by Dr. Gayle’s enduring commitment to creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks within which they can prioritize their mental health needs/goals, and, to providing access to well-trained and informed therapists who accompany clients on their unique journeys to realize those goals.
Prior to founding IntraSpectrum Counseling, Dr. Gayle served from 2007-2009 as Intake and North Shore Eating Disorders Program Coordinator at Insight Psychological Centers. She spent her post-doc year as Staff Therapist and Coordinator of Eating Disorders services at Yellowbrick, Inc. As a doctoral candidate, Dr. Gayle trained for three years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Stone Institute of Psychiatry, in the Outpatient Treatment Center. After founding IntraSpectrum, she was also honored to serve as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University for several years, educating soon-to-be therapists on the subjects of sexual identity and eating disorders.

IntraSpectrum Counseling unequivocally denounces the recent surge in anti-transgender rhetoric and the scapegoating of transgender people in the aftermath of recent shootings. Such rhetoric is baseless and deeply harmful, fostering stigma, discrimination, and potential violence against an already marginalized community. We stand firmly with transgender and nonbinary individuals, and reaffirm our commitment to providing affirming, compassionate, and inclusive care. We urge community leaders, media outlets, and the public to reject misinformation and prejudice, and to work collectively toward equity, dignity, and justice for all people. Click to read more.
