My vision is to offer integrative, strength-based approaches to help clients develop their own authentic voices and pursue their unique paths to individual fulfillment. Professionally and personally, I am deeply devoted to the empowerment of disenfranchised groups, and highly attuned to the issues facing minority communities, those with intersecting minority identities, and other victims of discrimination in our society. I also have an enduring commitment to creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks within which they can prioritize their mental health needs/goals.
Interpersonally, I would describe myself as collaborative, empathic, authentic, present and engaged during sessions with my clients. I prefer to work with more fluidity, spontaneity, and less structure in sessions (although I can and will utilize more structured approaches when appropriate or desired by the client), and I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the primary vehicle for the meaningful change clients seek in their lives.
