It can be complex navigating the trials and tribulations of life, especially when it feels like life is working against us. I have worked with the LGBTQ+ community and people from various cultural backgrounds, including BIPOC struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. Through compassion, acceptance, and curiosity, together we can develop insights and plans that make managing life easier. The hope is to feel the reward of our therapeutic work together, however that may look to you.
Successful therapy is defined by the client. I use concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, and humanistic psychology to inform my work with diverse types of people. In therapy with me, our first session can look like us having a conversation guided by some questions to get to know you and your goals for our work together. While defining those first goals will be important, therapy has ever-changing conditions! Together we can find creative ways of managing life adversities that are relevant to you. Through collaboration, time, and patience, we can work to nurture an environment for growth.

IntraSpectrum Counseling is appalled at the priorities and actions of this administration. It’s abundantly clear that the federal government is on the attack and that the rights, safety, and very lives of LGBTQ+ and minority communities are in jeopardy. We unapologetically denounce these deliberate actions that seek to harm the most vulnerable, particularly those among us who are Black, Brown, Indigenous, trans and non-binary. We stand firmly with our queer & BIPOC communities, and the millions of Americans who support equal rights for all citizens. We will continue to offer affirming support, provide resources, advocate for systemic change and foster spaces of safety and empowerment. Our resistance will not waver and we are not going anywhere.
We recognize that these initiatives are triggering to many, and that looming SCOTUS rulings and potential Project 2025 initiatives are adding to peoples’ levels of uncertainty & distress. For anyone needing affirming and validating support, we encourage you to reach out to us or to another trusted source in your community. We pledge to remain a beacon of hope. Let’s take good care of each other.
