My practice is founded on the belief that therapy is an intrinsically relational experience. Relationships can be core sources of pain and discomfort, but it is also through relationships that we heal – by learning how to see and treat ourselves, how to build community, and how to be with other people authentically and vulnerably. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I believe these relational factors can be especially resonant for those of us “within the spectrum.” As a result, I takes particular care in building
affirming and authentic healing relationships with each of my clients.
I primarily utilize an interpersonal approach to therapy, but I also draw from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative, existential, and relational-cultural approaches, along with theories of human development and social justice frameworks. Regardless of what brings you to therapy and regardless of whether sessions are spent laughing, crying, both, or somewhere in between, you can expect your therapy process to center on your relational experiences, individually tailored to your therapeutic goals.
