I am a therapist who believes that therapy is a journey in which the client and therapist are both guide and companion, with the client choosing their path and the therapist providing support and knowledge to better achieve the clients’ goals and needs. I encourage a creative approach to self-awareness, self-expression, and building strengths and skills, as I believe therapy is never a ‘one-size fits all’ experience.
Clients can expect a blend of open-mindedness, flexibility, patience, and a decidedly creative twist in a session with me. As an art therapist and a counselor, I encourage my clients to approach their journey from multiple angles, whether those are emotional, logical, visual, or even sensory, as they guide their experience alongside me. In the course of therapy I prioritize making sure clients feel safe, understood, and able to discover and express their truest selves and needs through words, actions, and art. Every therapy journey is unique, and the end results even more so. I provide clients with new techniques of expression through art or other creative means, and am a fan of encouraging clients to use what they have learned outside of session, whether by assigning homework or by placing the tools directly in the clients’ hands.
