Tevyn Anderson, PsyD.

Tevyn Anderson PsyDDr. Tevyn Anderson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Staff Therapist at IntraSpectrum Counseling, offering psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups.  Tevyn views therapy as an opportunity to explore relationships, both with one’s self and others, in an effort to make life more rewarding and meaningful.  She believes that the relationship with one’s self greatly influences all experiences and that exploring the interactions between the different parts of self is a fertile ground for personal understanding and growth. Tevyn approaches her clients with warmth, authenticity, and compassion, and works collaboratively with clients so they may explore difficult issues in a safe space.  She acknowledges that each person has unique perspectives and experiences and provides flexible and individualized therapy that honors each client’s therapeutic goals and needs.  She strives to help clients identify their genuine voice, relational and emotional needs, creativity and authentic values so they may lead a life that feels intentional and fulfilling.

Tevyn specializes in working with individuals who have survived trauma and is honored to help clients find their recovery and resilience in the face of past adversity.  She has developed an area of focus in working with survivors of sexual trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, and is highly attuned to how trauma can impact an individual’s sense of self and relationships with others.  Her additional areas of focus include anxiety, depression, gender and sexual identity development, self-compassion and acceptance, relationships, and sexual satisfaction and intimacy concerns.   Tevyn’s clinical work is informed by Relational Therapy, Insight Oriented Psychodynamic Theory, and Attachment Theory and often integrates Mindfulness components.

Prior to joining IntraSpectrum, Tevyn worked at five diverse College Counseling Centers in the Midwest, most recently as the Clinical Director at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Additionally, she trained at The Quetzal Center, the Community Counseling Centers for Chicago Center for Survivors of Sexual Trauma, where she had the opportunity to provide therapeutic services to incest and sexual assault survivors.  She earned her BA in Psychology & BA in Social Welfare from University of Wisconsin, Madison and earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University.
